This convention is done every year on last weekend of #February in #memory of Arturo de Ascanio. One of the most important part is the close up #competition on saturday morning. On #Ascanio 2020 we also have two lectures (woody+daortiz), one masterclass (woody) and a close up gala (woody+daortiz). Also on saturday night most of the attendees goes to a near bar to keep doing magic til almost sunrise.

“History”
After the death of Arturo de Ascanio, the Magic Circle of Madrid – SEI under the chairmanship of Armando Gómez and Miguel Gómez, decides to pay tribute to the teacher after 1 year of his disappearance. Throughout the year, two monthly conferences are held by great figures of magic: Antonio Ferragut, Bernard Bilis, Juan Tamariz, Roberto Giobbi, Tommy Wonder, Camilo, Miguel Gómez, Antonio Romero, José Luis Soler, Armando Gómez and many others more show their ideas in unforgettable conferences.
After this tribute, it is decided that the momentum must be maintained, so that in the General Assembly the members of the Circle decide to create the Ascanio Memorial, joining the contest that bears his name and was founded by Mr. Francisco García Cabrerizo in 1979.
This first memorial is held in 2001 with the aim of extolling and remembering the teacher Ascanio. Year after year conferences and galas are held where the seed that the teacher sowed in his students and scholars is seen and the prestigious award given by several of the best magicians in the world is awarded.
